After-School Program

St. Jude Catholic School will provide an After School Program for the 2006-2007 school year. All students who require after-school care are welcome to attend. The program will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. and continue until 6:00 p.m. All parents and students should review the following policies.

Registration
Parents are to fill out a registration form and an Emergency card for each child. There is also a $15.00 registration fee per family, even if you use this service on a part time basis. This fee will be used for snacks and supplies.

Time Limit
All students will be escorted to the room designated for the After School Program at 3:00 p.m. by their classroom teachers. Students are expected to remain in the After School Program until they are picked up by a parent or guardian. All students should be picked up by 6:00 p.m. 

Sign Out
Parents must come to the After School room to sign out their child. Students will not be allowed to leave without a parent signature. This will ensure safety for students, as well as parents.

Cost
The cost for After School is $3.00 per hour per child, or $150.00 for the month. Payment is due in full on a weekly basis unless you choose the monthly fee which is due at the beginning of each month. After 6:00 there will be an added fee of $1.00 per child for every 5 minutes that the parents are late.

Attendance
For students who will be in the After School Program on different days of the week, the parents will need to provide a schedule at the beginning of the week.

Snack
A snack will be provided daily, and on all half days the children must bring their own lunch.

Outside
During the warmer months, students will be allowed to play outside under the supervision of the After School Supervisor. During the colder months, students will be expected to stay inside if the wind chill is 15 degrees or colder. Students are expected to dress appropriately. Hats, gloves, scarves, coats, boots, and snow pants must be worn in the snow.

Behavior Policy
We expect all students to follow regular school rules in the After School Program.

Toys and Games
All toys and games will be located in the After School Care cabinet. All toys must be put back before a child is dismissed. This will prevent toys and games from being lost or broken.

Homework/Quiet Time
All students are expected to bring a book to read or homework, which should include a pencil and any other materials needed. There will be a designated quiet time everyday for this.

Schedule
3:00 - 3:15 Attendance
3:15 - 3:30 Snack Time
3:30 - 4:00 Quiet time/Homework
4:00 - 6:00 Playtime, Crafts and occasionally a movie

PARENTS PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILDREN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE TIME THEY SPEND IN AFTER SCHOOL CARE TO COMPLETE HOMEWORK, READ A BOOK OR STUDY FOR ANY UPCOMING TEST. IT WILL ONLY HELP THEM.
